KOLKATA. World Diabetes day awareness session was held at Central hospital Garden reach, South Eastern Railways today under the aegis of Medical department . Dr Anirban Sinha, Endocrinologist in his inaugural address explained in lucid terms the significance of Diabetes as a disease and the relevance of Diabetes day.
Medical Director Dr K Sreekumar, in his address stressed the importance of Diet, Exercise and strict patient compliance in achieving good glycemic control.
Dr B N Jha, ACHD Cardiology stressed the fact about Diabetes as a contributing factor in Cardiovascular complications. Dr Krishna Das, Chief specialist Physician talked about the relevance of the theme’ Breaking barriers and bridging gaps’ in the management aspects.
Dr Mukta Mandal, ACHD,/Paediatrics discussed regarding Type 1 Diabetes in the young. Diet and it’s significance was discussed by Dietician. This was followed by an interaction with the audience who were the patients at speciality clinic.
Dr Anindya Bera ACHD in his concluding remarks summarised the discussion . Dr Priyanka Mondal, DMO conducted the event.
